The District of Taylor have closed all rec facilities as of March 17, 2020. This includes the Taylor Arena, Taylor Curling Rink, and Taylor Community Hall.

The ice will be removed from both the arena and curling rink, and both facilities will be fully cleaned and sanitized. The kitchen in the Taylor Community Hall is currently being renovated. When renovations are finished, that facility will be fully cleaned and sanitized as well.

"We looked at it and said, 'With everything we need to do to prepare our buildings between gatherings, why would we schedule anything non essential? Let’s just close down our arena and recreational programs'", said District of Taylor Mayor Rob Fraser. "Sports are nonessential right now, from a social distancing perspective."

Fraser said the District is currently looking at ways to keep both the Lone Wolf Golf Club and Peace Island Park operational in the summer.

"People still need to recreate, just to keep social welfare up and keep your head straight. We will make sure everything is clean, the golf carts are cleam, and that cash isn't handled, among other precautions," Fraser said. "Golf is a good way to keep that mental acuity up and still get some exercise, while we deal with whatever the world throws at us."
