After asking for help from the public, RCMP say they've got their man.

During the early morning hours of Sept 2, Dawson Creek RCMP were dispatched to a report of a fire at the 7-11 on 8th street. Investigation determined that a male entered the establishment, purchased cigarettes, then departed and went behind the building at which he was viewed on surveillance to strike a match.

Shortly thereafter, persons nearby noted a fire at the same location and notified employees whom were able to extinguish the fire.

RCMP looked to speak with a male who is described as Caucasian, 30-35yrs old, wearing a ball cap. He was associated to a black Ford Escape.

DC RCMP have been able to identify this person, they noted on Twitter.

"Thank you to the public for your help in solving this crime!"
