Canadian blues-rock legend Matt Minglewood brings his brand of East Coast swagger and storytelling to Fort St. John and the Lido Theatre on April 1.
Tickets are on sale now at the Lido, and are priced at $44.50 for general admission or $49.75 for reserved seating, plus applicable fees.
Hailing from Cape Breton, Minglewood is known for his high octane shows, and will have you enjoying his brand of rock as it should be heard: wrenched from the heart and shot from the hip.
Learning to play the fiddle before he could read, Minglewood gravitated toward blues and rock n’ roll as a teen when he fell head over heels for the guitar. It's not difficult to hear the influences of B.B. King, Muddy Waters, Chuck Berry, and Hank Williams, but Minglewood infuses his blues sense with a country and Celtic element that's in his bones.
Over his 50 years in music, Minglewood has earned three gold records and countless awards, including an East Coast Music Association Lifetime Achievement Award. Minglewood has also been bestowed with the Queen's Jubilee Medal for his contributions to Canadian music.
Joining Minglewood on stage and on his latest release, Fly Like Desperados, is Moon McInnis (driving drums/vocals), Emily Dingwall (bass/vocals), Nick McInnis (guitar), and Jeff Stapleton doing the honours on keyboards and vocals.
Minglewood Live at the Lido is presented by Alaska Highway News and the Dawson Creek Mirror, with support from the Lido, NAPA, Doug Sather, and Home 2 Suites by Hilton.
