Jolly Old St. Nick will make his rounds to local museums starting in Fort St. John this weekend.
The Northern Heritage Trails Society invites families to take their pictures beside a life-sized Santa Claus poster, with the beautiful backdrop of the snowy historic buildings outside museums across the region.
Santa will first visit the Fort St. John North Peace Museum on Saturday, Nov. 28, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Due to recently updated health guidelines, the museum is asking families to pre-register for a 10-minute timeslot.
Families are asked to wear masks before approaching the bench to take their photographs, and use their own cameras to take pictures. There will no longer be a Santa mailbox, but families can still leave with postcards to mail on their own time, the museum said.
"Unfortunately given the current guidelines, this is the only way this activity can go ahead," museum officials said.
