Saturday is a busy day in the Peace this weekend! We’ve got everything from Pro Motocross, to UFC, to a gala event to celebrate Black History Month. Tons of hockey to check out too, including Fort St. John Flyers, the Northeast B.C.

Saturday is a busy day in the Peace this weekend!

We’ve got everything from Pro Motocross, to UFC, to a gala event to celebrate Black History Month.

Tons of hockey to check out too, including Fort St. John Flyers, the Northeast B.C. and Yukon Trackers playoff action, and a pre-novice hockey tournament going on all weekend in Dawson Creek.

For all you balers, AAA zone provincials qualifications are going on all day Friday and a portion of the day on Saturday at the North Peace Secondary School.

There’s live music at the Faking Sanity Café in Dawson Creek Saturday night, and UFC 184 on the big screen at the Lido.

Don’t forget, you can’t be late until you show up.

The Fort St John Senior Flyers take on the Spirit River Rangers this Friday at the North Peace Arena, The puck drops at 8:30.

 

AAA Basketball, Fort St. John, All day

I don’t know about you guys, but I have a craving for some good b-ball. Northern zone provincial qualifications for AAA Basketball are taking place at the North Peace Secondary School all day Friday.

The Faking Sanity Café in Dawson Creek (901B – 103 Ave) is the scene for the Peace Region Songwriters Association monthly coffee house this Saturday.

Open mic takes place throughout the evening including music and spoken word. Open to all genres of music and skill levels Admission is by donation.

Bring your guitar, your tamborine, your spoons, your – whatever! Clap your hands, tap your toes, sing along and have a good time.

Coffee tea and goodies available.

 

Freestyle Motocross, Dawson Creek, 12:30 p.m.

The Encana Events Centre will showcase 12 top international pros from the FMX and BMX pro circuit this Saturday.

Gala event, Fort St. John, 6 – 10 p.m.

In celebration of Black history month, the Pan African Caribbean Association of Fort St. John invites you to participate in a dinner, fashion show, and silent auction at the North Peace Cultural Centre.

Performance by Calysto Steel Band in the theatre following the dinner.
