Sentences and fines from Fort St. John and Dawson Creek provincial courts Dec. 14 to Dec. 18, 2020:
Dawson Creek
• Joshua Ivan Toth (born 1982) was sentenced to time served and ordered to submit a DNA sample for possession of stolen property over $5,000, and was sentenced to time served and given a two-year criminal driving ban for dangerous driving, both committed in Farmington in March 2020. Toth was sentenced to time served and given a two-year criminal driving ban for fleeing police, and was sentenced to time served for dangerous driving, both committed in Fort St. John in September 2019.
• Raymond Spence (born 1953) was fined $1,000, handed a one year criminal driving ban, and ordered to pay a $300 victim surcharge for impaired driving, committed in Dawson Creek in March 2020.
• Kevin Smith (born 1975) was granted a conditional discharge with one year of probation for assault, committed in Dawson Creek in October 2018.
• Jay Donovan Kelly (born 1995) was granted a conditional discharge with one year of probation, and ordered to pay a $100 victim surcharge for assault, committed in Tumbler Ridge in May 2019.
• Melissa Ann Wade (born 1979) was fined $2,000, given a six month driving ban, and ordered to pay a $300 victim surcharge for driving without due care or attention, committed in Dawson Creek in December 2019.
• Adrian Lee Harper (born 1987) was issued a one-year $500 recognizance after allegation of causing fear of injury or damage, committed in Dawson Creek in November 2019.
Fort Nelson
• Sasha Mae Burke (born 1991) was given a suspended sentence with 18 months probation for uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, committed in Fort Nelson in September 2020; given a suspended sentence with 18 months probation for mischief under $5,000 and two counts of breaching a release order, committed in Fort Nelson in August 2020; given 18 months probation for assault, committed in Fort Nelson in April 2020; given 18 months probation for assaulting a peace officer, committed in Fort Nelson in April 2020; given a suspended sentence with 18 months probation for possessing and using a stolen credit card, committed in Fort Nelson in March 2020; given a suspended sentence with 18 months probation for mischief, committed in Fort St. John in February 2020; and was given 18 months probation for assaulting a peace officer, committed in Fort St. John in February 2020.
• Ryan Nicholas Oswald (born 1996) was given a six-month conditional sentence with 12 months probation, issued a mandatory lifetime firearms ban, and ordered to submit a DNA sample for three counts of possessing a firearm contrary to order and one count of possession of a controlled substance, all committed in Fort Nelson in April 2020.
• Riley Burke (born 1994) was granted a conditional discharge with 12 months probation for assault, committed in Fort Nelson in May 2020.
• Dakota Wolf (born 1995) was given a suspended sentence with 15 months probation for assault, committed in Fort Nelson in December 2020; and was given a suspended sentence with 15 months probation for assault, committed in Fort Nelson in January 2019.
• Nathan Gardner (born 1998) was issued a one-year $500 recognizance after allegation of causing fear of injury or damage, committed in Fort Nelson in January 2018.
• Preston Allen Burke (born 1981) was sentenced to zero days for wilfully resisting or obstructing police, committed in Fort Nelson in May 2019.
• Ryan Eric Whitehead (born 1995) was sentenced to eight days jail breach of probation, committed in Fort Nelson in October 2020.
• Zoran Alexander Jovic (born 1969) was fined $500 and ordered to pay a $100 victim surcharge for breaching probation, committed in Fort Nelson in July 2020.
Fort St. John
• Hailey Rosemary McPhee (born 2000) was issued a nine-month $500 recognizance after allegation of causing fear of injury or damage, committed in Fort St John in July 2020.
Chetwynd
• Michel Bernard Ouellette (born 1973) was issued a one-year $1,000 recognizance after allegation of causing fear of injury or damage, committed in Chetwynd in October 2019.
