Prespatou resident Verna Wiebe, Fort St. John’s Eva Wiebe, and Charlie Lake resident Sharon Fehr made the long trip to the Operation Christmas Child warehouse in Calgary to help inspect gift-filled shoeboxes before they are sent to children in Central America and west Africa.

It’s the third year Verna has set aside her life to volunteer with Operation Christmas Child and she persuaded Eva and Sharon to come along.

“I’ve wanted to do this for years,” said Sharon, who’s a veteran shoebox packer. “I love to see the videos showing the smiling children receiving their boxes.”

Fort St. John residents can still help children by packing shoeboxes with school supplies, hygiene items, and toys.

Just visit www.PackaBox.ca and do it online from the comfort of home.
