The Peace River Regional District has released its chief administrative officer.
The district announced in a short statement late Friday that it had released Chris Cvik "without cause."
"The CAO of the Peace River Regional District was released without cause on May 18th, 2018," the statement reads.
Cvik was hired in his role May 1, 2014, replacing retiring CAO Fred Banham.
The board held a special closed meeting on May 18 to discuss Cvik's annual review.
Board chair Brad Sperling declined further comment.
Deputy Chief Administrative Officer Shawn Dahlen takes over Cvik's duties until further notice, Sperling said.
The board holds its next meeting Thursday at the cultural centre in Fort St. John.
