RCMP warn of broken glass left with dog treats in North Vancouver park

Police asking for tips after potentially deadly mixture found on trail near Mosquito Creek

North Vancouver RCMP are warning dog owners to be extra vigilant after receiving a report of what appears to be deliberately placed broken glass with dog treats on a trail near Mosquito Creek.

A resident reported the potentially deadly mixture near Glen Canyon Drive on Feb. 7, after noticing the treats and glass near a hollowed out tree stump.

"Thankfully, the dog that found the treats did not eat the glass and was unharmed," said Const. Kelly McIntyre, North Vancouver RCMP spokesperson. "Please continue to be vigilant when out with your dogs on the trails and report anything suspicious as soon as possible."

Anyone who has any information about this matter is asked to call the North Vancouver RCMP at 604-985-1311.
