Stunning video captures life in nearby ocean (VIDEO)

Ever wonder what creatures live in the Pacific Northwest waters?

In two minutes John Roney shares a huge collection of images caught beneath the waves in the region.

A diver and videographer based on Vancouver Island, Roney has spent two years filming marine life in the region, and put together a Blue Planet-worthy collection of his favourite clips.

It includes octopuses, otters and crabs covered in spectacular colours. There are also jellyfish with bioluminescence, rockfish and other types of life that may seem a bit alien to some.

In comments online he notes one of the octopus was likely around the size of his golden retriever.

"I spent the past two years filming the local marine life off Vancouver Island, on the west coast of Canada. This is a collection of my favourite clips," Roney writes in a post online.
