Vandalism at Kelt Exploration site incurs $60K worth of damages

For the third time since January, Kelt Exploration sites in the Inga Lake area have been vandalized, most recently incurring damage upwards of $60,000, believed to have taken place around 11 p.m. on June 12.

A two-toned white and beige pickup truck was seen in the Inga Lake area around the time the Kelt Exploration sites were vandalized, incurring more than $60,000 in damage to critical infrastructure.

For the third time since January, Kelt Exploration sites in the Inga Lake area have been vandalized, most recently incurring damage upwards of $60,000, believed to have taken place around 11 p.m. on June 12.

The damage was to critical infrastructure at the sites, which could pose hazards.

“Damage to the Kelt Exploration’s critical infrastructure has the potential to cause harm to the environment and the public frequenting the area,” said Cst. Nancy Saggar, with the Fort St. John RCMP, in a press release.

A two-toned white and beige pickup truck was seen in the area at the time. Police would like to speak to the driver and anyone else who may have been in the vehicle, as they may have information that could aid RCMP’s investigation.

Anyone with information regarding the identity of the driver or the suspects is asked to call either the Fort St. John RCMP at 250-787-8100, or to remain anonymous, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
