Northeast B.C. Rig Report - Feb. 6

Nineteen rigs are active in northeast B.C. this week, with 260 at work across Western Canada.

Producers are at work across the region, with Akita, Ensign, Horizon, Nabors, and Precision all drilling. Ensign added a second rig at Sunrise to drill for gas for Ovintiv Canada, formerly Encana. Horizon also has a rig drilling there for Ovintiv.

  • Akita 35 is drilling for gas for Storm Resources at Fireweed. Spud was Jan. 8
  • Ensign 40 is drilling for gas for Painted Pony at Kobes. Spud was Jan. 23.

  • Ensign 46 is drilling for gas for Pacific Canbriam Energy at Altares. Spud was Jan. 7.

  • Ensign 49 is moving in to Sunrise to drill for gas for Ovintiv Canada.

  • Ensign 55 is drilling for gas for Ovintiv Canada at Sunrise. Spud was Feb. 4.

  • Ensign 437 is drilling for gas for Black Swan at Nig Creek. Spud was Feb. 1.

  • Ensign 444 is moving in Laprise Creek to drill for gas for Saguaro Resources.

  • Horizon 41 is drilling for gas for Ovintiv Canada at Sunrise. Spud was Feb. 5.

  • Horizon 52 is drilling for gas for Kelt Exploration at Oak. Spud was Jan. 28.

  • Horizon 55 is drilling for gas for Kelt Exploration at Cache Creek. Spud was Feb. 5.

  • Nabors 120 is drilling for gas for Petronas at Town. Spud was Feb. 2.

  • Precision 185 is drilling for gas for ARC Resources at Doe. Spud was Feb. 4.

  • Precision 533 is drilling for gas for Tourmaline at Gundy. Spud was Jan. 30.

  • Precision 538 is drilling for oil for Tourmaline at Zaremba. Spud was Feb. 1.

  • Precision 542 is drilling for gas for ARC Resources at Parkland. Spud was Jan. 31.

  • Precision 544 is drilling for gas for Petronas at Town. Spud was Jan. 30.

  • Precision 546 is drilling for gas for Tourmaline at Town. Spud was Jan. 31.

  • Precision 547 is drilling for gas for Murphy Oil at Sundown. Spud was Jan. 29.

  • Precision 867 is drilling for gas for ConocoPhillips at Blueberry. Spud was Feb. 6.

Alberta has 168 rigs working, down six week over week, with 68 active in Saskatchewan, up five. There are five rigs active in Manitoba.

There were 223 rigs at work in Canada this time last year.
