Northeast B.C. Rig Report - March 6

Rig activity in northeast B.C. fell below 40% this week.

There were 16 of 41 rigs active as of March 6, according to RigLocator, down one from last week with Precision no longer reporting a rig in Monias.

  •   Ensign 40 is drilling for gas for Painted Pony at Julienne Creek. Spud was Feb. 25.
Ensign 46 is drilling for gas for Pacific Canbriam at Altares. Spud was Feb. 29.

  •   Ensign 49 is drilling for gas for Ovintiv at Tower. Spud was Feb. 26.

  •   Ensign 55 is drilling for gas for Ovintiv at Tower Lake. Spud was Feb. 26.

  •   Ensign 420 is drilling for oil for Whitecap Resources at Boundary Lake. Spud was March 2.

  •   Ensign 437 is drilling for gas for Black Swan at Nig Creek. Spud was March 3.

  •   Horizon 41 is drilling for gas for Ovintiv at Tower Lake. Spud was Feb. 28.

  •   Nabors 120 is drilling for gas for Petronas at Town. Spud was Feb. 29.

  •   Precision 465 is drilling for gas for ARC at Doe. Spud was Feb. 27.

  •   Precision 533 is drilling for gas for Tourmaline at Gundy. Spud was Feb. 27.

  •   Precision 538 is drilling for gas for Tourmaline at Kobes. Spud was March 5.

  •   Precision 542 is drilling for gas for ARC at Sundown. Spud was March 5.

  •   Precision 544 is drilling for gas for Petronas at Blueberry. Spud was March 4.

  •   Precision 546 is drilling for gas for Tourmaline at Town. Spud was Feb. 26.

  •   Precision 547 is drilling for gas for Murphy Oil at Sundown. Spud was Feb. 26.

  •   Precision 867 is drilling for gas for ConocoPhillips at Blueberry. Spud was Feb. 21.

There are 196 rigs at work in Western Canada this week, down 28 from this time last week, and down from 199 rigs at this time last year. 

Alberta has 129 rigs working, down 18 from last week, with 48 active in Saskatchewan, down nine.

There are three rigs active in Manitoba, the same as last week.
