Tourmaline Oil will make a major $1.7 billion announcement in Fort St. John on Saturday.

Tourmaline is among Canada's largest natural gas producers, and the third largest in Northeast B.C.

Earlier this year, the company said it was expanding its infrastructure and directing its growth capital to the Gundy area of the Montney play because it is the highest-return project in its inventory.

The event will take place at Tourmaline's office at 10 a.m., followed by a ribbon cutting.
