There were 249 cases of COVID-19 reported in Northeast B.C. last week, according to the latest data from the BCCDC.
Between Oct. 17 to 23, there were 129 cases in the South Peace, 112 in the North Peace, and 8 in Fort Nelson.
Case numbers in the northeast are up from last week, when 185 were reported across the region.
Across the Northern Health region, there are 808 active cases, with 130 new cases reported Wednesday. There are 79 patients in hospital, 22 in critical care.
The death toll in Northern Health has now reached 208 since the pandemic began, with one new death reported Wednesday.
As of Oct. 19, first dose immunization rates in Fort St. John were up to 76%. Second dose rates were up to 64%. More than 1,500 immunizations were given last week, according to Northern Health.
Drop-in immunization clinics continue at the public health unit on 110 Avenue. Mobile clinics run Thursday, Oct. 28, in both Doig River and Blueberry River First Nations.
