A collection of artists from Dawson Creek are displaying their works at the city's art gallery in an exhibit that runs until May 6.
They call themselves the Exploring Art Group.
"We're an enterprising group," member Joann Nelson explained. "We'll try all different forms of art."
The group was started about twenty years ago by local artist Edna McPhail, who was focused primarily on acrylic works. They've expanded to include many more mediums over the years.
Works on display now at the gallery are members' projects completed in the past year including water colours, batik, encaustics, ink, collage and acrylics.
True to their name, the artists in the group are not afraid to try new approaches.
"If someone wants to do something, we'll find out how to do it or find someone that knows how," Nelson said.
As a result, the exhibit is bound to have something for everyone.
"The variety is amazing," Nelson added.
The exhibit is grouped by artist with a short bio attached to each section.
The group meets weekly at the O'Brien Art Space inside the old O'Brien School. Sessions take place from September to April, with a break for Christmas. Artists new to the area are encouraged to join.
