An up and down year. Kameryn Palfi lost her brother Ryeley in June 2022 – who was an up-and-coming superstar in bodybuilding. Cut to 2023.
Kameryn’s first show was July’s TNT Muscle Showdown in Edmonton. It was the show both Palfis had talked about and originally planned to compete in.
“I had originally planned to do a solo May show – but it didn’t work out and the next one was the TNT,” says Palfi.
The results are nothing but gains – she picked up first place in the junior category and finished top 6 in the open category. She says the experience was one to build on.
“It was awesome. The body building community was very welcoming." Palfi knew at athlete check-in she would be at home in the competition.
“I brought a couple of friends and family members, and the audience was great."
The Dawson Creek product is in the midst of moving to Fort St. John and prepping for a fall show.
The plan is to come back leaner but with five more pounds of muscle. She has been training with Devre Gibson over the last year at Gridiron Fitness.
