The North Central Local Government Association’s (NCLGA) selected a new Board of Directors at the 68th Annual General Meeting.
The AGM and Convention was co-hosted by the communities of Chetwynd and Dawson Creek, from May 9-12, in Mile Zero.
Resolution topics were focused on health care and land use and are available on the NCLGA website. All Resolutions were passed, updates to the Constitution and Bylaws were made, and was approved.
Sheila Boehm, Councillor, City of Williams Lake, has been appointed as the new President of the NCLGA Board of Directors and will serve a one-year term. Sheila is a second-term Councillor for the City of Williams Lake and served this past year as 1st Vice President of the NCLGA. Sheila is a self-employed chiropractor in Williams Lake for over twenty years and worked as a Registered Nurse prior to that at Cariboo Memorial Hospital.
“I am excited to be taking on the President role with NCLGA. As a long-term resident of Northern and Rural BC, I believe this is the best place to live, work, and play and I look forward to collaborating with the Board and membership to ensure issues of our region are heard and supported," said Boehm, NCLGA President in a statement.
