UPDATE: RCMP locate missing Whitehorse couple headed to Alberta

The pair were reported missing on July 27, 2022.

Whitehorse RCMP note a pair of travellers headed to Alberta have been located.

"Though there were reports on Thursday evening that they were found or had been in contact with friends, police can't officially close a missing person investigation until we have had direct contact with the person reported missing," said officials

Original story: Whitehorse RCMP seeks public assistance in locating overdue travellers Owen and Susan Konski.

The pair were reported missing on July 27, 2022. Police were told Owen and Susan Konski, both in their early 60s, were last known to be in Whitehorse until July 20 or 21, 2022, before heading south on the Alaska Highway.

They are believed to be driving a white 2019 Dodge Ram 3500 pickup truck with an Alberta license plate and towing a fifth wheel travel trailer. The trailer is about 30' long.

Attempts to contact Owen and Susan have been unsuccessful since July 19 and their family is concerned for their safety. They are believed to be travelling back to Alberta. Police have patrolled in areas along the highway, and followed up on other leads without locating the couple to this point.

Susan is described as a having long white hair and green eyes, and is 5'6". Owen is described as a Caucasian man with medium-length gray/white hair, gray eyes, and a goatee. He wears glasses.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Owen and Susan Konski is urged to contact their local police detachment, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
