Tumbler Ridge RCMP are currently investigating multiple incidents of fraud involving an out of town contractor.
The file concerns where payment was obtained upfront from local residents. The contractor then proceeds to cease all communications with the victim once the funds are deposited.
"Our investigation has identified several victims, however we believe there are other victims that have yet to come forward," sai Cst. David Ribeiro in a statement.
The RCMP’s investigation is still in its infancy and specific details cannot be released at this time, however If you have information or know of someone who does, please contact the Tumbler Ridge RCMP at 250-242-5252, refer to file 22-282 and speak with the lead investigator Cst. Nick Gachter.
