Want to get an idea for a story? Go for a walk. This is the simple mantra leading South Peace based writer Karen Hillier to completion of her second crime mystery short story collection.
Based around ideas inspired by walks around the Peace region, Hillier’s second book of short stories ‘Adventures Gone So Wrong’ picks up right where her first ‘Exploring Just Became Real’
While the exploration, imagination and writing are still front and centre, the mechanics of writing, and the running order or “setlist” of the short stories is key.
With each book a lesson and getting smarter at each work, Hillier is doing editing more “close to home” with her daughter on board for Adventures Gone So Wrong.
Hillier says books three and four are already well underway, with more ideas always percolating.
