Chances Fort St. John presented a cheque on Sept. 27 to the Fort St. John Hospital Foundation as part of its long-standing commitment to the non-profit group.
“The contribution and donation come from the casino itself. Once we find a partner, like the foundation, we donate it,” said general manager Leanne Johnson. “This is something that’s near and dear to our hearts, obviously. Giving back to the community is always a priority for us.”
“These contributions are so important just on the scale of so many things," added hospital foundation executive director Kelly Amboe. "The community is active again. Everybody's out participating in activities. With businesses going back to normal, they’re able to make donations like this."
Exactly where the $28,447.39 contribution will go has yet to be determined.
Amboe said it’s a discussion they’re willing to have if the casino has a particular project they’d like to see the money go towards.
