City hall is open for business, but council chambers remain closed to the public.

Ryan Harvey, the city's communication co-ordinator says this is to meet physical distancing guidelines. The public can watch council meeting's on the city's website or Facebook and YouTube pages, he said.

City hall reopened May 19 for front counter services, as did the development services department.

"We have implemented several new practices to ensure the continued health and safety of our employees, residents, and visitors, and we will continue with our enhanced telephone service for the foreseeable future," the city said.

"These precautions include limiting the number of people in each building, installing plexiglass shields, increased cleaning and sanitization, and ensuring physical distancing guidelines are followed."
