The Fort St. John cadets had a chance to show their stuff at their annual review.
On Saturday, the 2276 Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corps held their 69th annual review at the Fort St. John Curling Club.
Major Harpal Mandaher, a deputy commanding officer for the Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry, inspected the cadets.
Ken Lane, the cadets' commanding officer, said that his cadets had been working hard in preparation for the event.
“It just gives them an opportunity to see that they’re part of a bigger organization rather than just strictly what happens in Fort St. John,” Lane said. “Just because we are isolated, they don’t get a chance to realize they’re part of something much bigger.”
The cadets were also given awards. Winners included Chief Warrant Officer Donaven Titley, who won the Lt. Brian Wallace Award for Excellence.
Master Warrant Officer Taniesha Fisher received the Lord Strathcona Medal, while the Royal Canadian Legion Medal of Excellence was handed out to Master Corporal Drew Budd.
