Gallaghers brighten the mood, turn Christmas lights back on

Sean Gallagher is shining some positivity on the community in a unique way — by turning on his Christmas lights.

Gallagher's impressive and popular Christmas lights display just north of town (10575 242 road, off the West Bypass) is being turned on each night, giving families looking for something fun and fresh to do an option if they want to make the drive.

"I saw the idea originate in the United States, that people were starting to turn their lights back on in effort to get some happiness back in people's lives," Gallagher said.

Gallagher has been putting on a big Christmas lights display for 20 years, the last four at the current location. He said he takes the lights down every year after the snow melts and it just so happened that he hadn't yet taken them down.

He started showing the lights display on March 21, and had "hundreds of cars come by," Monday night.

"I'll leave them on until everything gets better," Gallagher said.
