The Community Development Institute is bringing author and popular TED talk speaker back to Fort St. John next month.
Dudley was a keynote speaker at this year's Spark women's conference in May, and the CDI's recently launched Leader's Lab is bringing him back as part of its fall speaker series on leadership.
“We are ecstatic to be able to launch our fall speaker series with someone of Drew’s calibre," said Carolynn Oliver, facilitator of the CDI's Leaders Lab, in a news release.
"His message will resonate with every member of our community."
The CDI, part of the University of Northern B.C., launched the Leader's Lab in the city to deliver programming, workshops, and speaker events in the community.
Dudley is the founder of Day One Leadership, and known for coining the term "Lollipop Moment," described as everyday acts of generosity and leadership that make someone's life or job better. A TED talk about the concept and how it applies to leadership has racked up millions of views on internet channels.
He's also the author of This is Day One: A Practical Guide to Leadership that Matters, which "challenges the traditional image of a leader and creates a simple approach to employing leadership skills, starting at day one, that anyone can follow," according to the release.
“Fort St. John created a special place in my heart on my first visit, and I could not be more thrilled to be returning in October," Dudley said.
"The energy, hospitality, and obvious commitment to the community blew me away."
Dudley will speak at the Evangel Chapel on Oct. 4, 2018, at 7 p.m.
