Mammoth tusk stolen in Fort St. John

RCMP investigate break-in at local collectibles shop

Fort St. John police are looking for the public’s help solving a break and enter last week in which a mammoth tusk and other unique collectibles were stolen from a local store.

RCMP say the break-in happened in the early morning hours last Wednesday, Sept. 21, at Penny’s Coins Cards and Collectibles on 100 Avenue.

Suspects broke in through the back door and smashed several display cases, according to police.

Among the stolen items: a mammoth tusk, hockey cards, coin sets, collectible maple leaves, and collectible Canadian currency in $1, $2, $5, and $10 denominations, police said.
