On Thursday November 12, at 4:05 a.m., Fort St John RCMP received a report of someone inside a commercial compound in the area of the 11200 block of 100th Ave in Fort St John. The report stated the individual was trying to steal a Razor ATV.
Frontline General Duty officers attended and found the front gate of the business was open and an ATV was missing. The complainant provided an update that the ATV was abandoned in the area of 104th St and 101st Ave.
Additional frontline officers attended and located 39-year-old Andrew Hall, a known property offender, walking away from the area of the ATV and detained him for a Break and Enter investigation. The Peace Liard Police Services dog attended and assisted with the investigation.
"The timely report of an observant complainant and the quick response of our frontline officers brought this file to its best outcome," said Corporal Chris Christinger. "The offender is in custody and the ATV was recovered for the business, it was a job well done."
Andrew Hall was subsequently arrested and charges have been approved for Break and Enter and Commit an Indictable Offence, Theft over $5000, and Breach of Release order. Hall attended court and was remanded into custody for a future court appearance date.
