Mother's Day drive-thru fundraiser

The Rotary Club of Fort St. John will host a drive-thru fundraiser Sunday in lieu of this year's Mother's Day run.

The annual run was cancelled due to Covid-19, however, a no-contact drive-by fundraiser will be held at the Surerus Ball Diamonds May 10 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

"Our event has been a source of revenue for the Women's Resource Society for eight years and due to this year's restriction on large events, our contribution is in jeopardy," said Rotarian Stacy Freeman.

"Even with Sunday's event, we fear our donation will be a fraction of what it has been in the past, in a time when they need it most."

The 2019 run raised $18,900 for the Women's Resource Society.

Medals will be handed out to those who donate a minimum amount of $20.

The event goes Sunday at the Surerus Ball Diamonds from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
