Old Fort entry permits suspended

The Peace River Regional District says it has suspended temporary entry permits to Old Fort today due to continued instability of the landslide.

"This decision has been made based on information provided to the Emergency Operations Centre by the geotechnical engineer," the regional district posted in an update.

"PRRD staff will continue to monitor the situation and provide information to the public as it becomes available."

The permits were offered to residents at a community meeting on Monday to be able to gather essential belongings they were unable to take out when they were ordered to evacuate the community.
