A Tuesday rainfall warning has been issued for the Peace region.

Weather experts say a prolonged period of rain continues with 50 to 75 mm with local amounts approaching 100 mm for southern areas of the BC Peace River District.

:Risk of flooding and debris flow. A significant and slow-moving low pressure system over central Alberta will continue to bring a prolonged period of rain to northeastern British Columbia," note officials.

"Rain, at timed heavy, will ease to light this afternoon and abate (Tuesday night)."
