The Fort St. John RCMP says its front counter will reopen to the public starting Monday, July 6, at 8 a.m.

The front counter will be open for regular hours from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday to Friday. COVID-19 protocols will be posted on the front doors, and hand sanitizer will be available in the front lobby. A maximum of two people will be in the lobby at one time.

Civilian fingerprinting will be available Tuesdays from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., and Thursdays from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., with appointments every half hour.

Appointments must be booked ahead of time by calling 250-787-8100. The RCMP says this will limit the number of people in the detachment, and allow time for equipment cleaning.

Anyone with signs of COVID-19, or has who travelled in the last 14 days, is asked to stay home and call the detachment instead.

Non-emergency reports where there are no witnesses or suspects, and police follow up is not required, can be made through the RCMP's new Online Crime Reporting Tool.
