Update, Sept. 22:
RCMP say the UTV has been returned, after the owner attended the detachment on Sept.17 and provided a bill of sale with the matching vehicle identification number.
"The owner was happy to get his UTV back!" said Cst. Chad Neustaeter in a release. "Thank you to the media and public for aiding in the return of the UTV to its rightful owner."
Original story, Sept. 16:
Fort St. John police are looking to return a side-by-side utility terrain vehicle found abandoned in Charlie Lake to its rightful owner.
In a release, RCMP say they received a report of the abandoned vehicle around 8 a.m. Friday morning, and believe it may have been stolen. A description of the vehicle and where it was found was not provided.
RCMP say the owner can attend the Fort St. John detachment, and provide a sales receipt, serial number, or photograph, and verbally describe the brand, colour, and any special items of note, to claim the vehicle.
Anyone with information about the file can call RCMP at 250-787-8100.
