Stranger tried to get teen into his minivan

Fort St. John RCMP are asking the public to remain vigilant after a stranger attempted to get a teenage boy to get into his minivan on Dec. 17.

Police say the teen was walking home at the time in the area of 93rd Avenue and 92A Street when he was approached by a man in a blue minivan who offered him a ride. The teen refused.

The driver told him to get in the van, but the teen continued walking east on 93rd Avenue. The van turned south into the alleyway between 86th and 87th Street.

Anyone with information on this event is asked to call the RCMP at 250-787-8140, or to give information anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
