Fort St. John RCMP say a suspected vehicle arson last week in Charlie Lake led to the recovery of stolen property from Fort St. John and the Okanagan.

Frontline officers, along with the serious crimes and canine unit, were called to a vehicle fire near 281 Road and Jensen Avenue just before 2 p.m. on Nov. 5, according to release. Upon arrival, the officers found a burning SUV believed to be intentionally started on fire, RCMP said.

Further investigation in the area led officers to locate a travel trailer that was reported stolen on Oct. 15 from Fort St. John, RCMP said. The officers also located a Dodge pickup truck reported stolen from the Okanagan on March 31, police said.

RCMP say they were able to return the trailer to its registered owner, and are attempting to do the same with the pickup truck. Officers continue to investigate.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact RCMP at 250-787-8100.
