Thieves hit On The Rocks liquor store on Sunday

On the Rocks Liquor Store on Alaska Highway and 86th Street was robbed on Sunday morning, according to police.

RCMP said that a slender male approximately 5’11 in height wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt with his face covered, stole money, cigarettes and alcohol from the store just before 10 a.m.

He did not produce a weapon and no one was injured in the event, police said.

Authorities contained an area surrounding the store and brought in a police dog to track the suspect, but he has so far evaded capture, said the RCMP, who are continuing the investigation.

If anyone has any information relating to this incident, police are asking that they call 250-787-8100, or for anyone who wishes to remain anonymous, Crime Stoppers can be reached at 1-800-222-8477.

There is a reward of up to $2,000 for information leading to an arrest and charge.
