In late April, the Calgary-based carrier said it was cancelling some 18,000 flights between May 5 and June 4. WestJet domestic route suspensions will continue through July 4, and several domestic seasonal routes also won't begin until July.

The airline says it is also extending its temporary transborder and international route suspensions through to June 25.

Customers with travel booked after June 5 through July 4 will be notified of their options.

Air Canada has extended its suspension at the Fort St. John airport until June 21.

Central Mountain Air is still reporting a return to scheduled commercial service on June 8.

Nav Canada has suspended overnight air navigation services in Fort St. John. Affected airports will remain open and aircraft will continue to be able to land and depart.

Fort St. John airport officials say this won’t affect medevacs or traffic coming into the airport. All the navigation aids and runway lighting will still be in service, and the airport will be monitored remotely from the Edmonton FIC.
