Wednesday morning power outage; power fully restored

B.C. Hydro says powerhas been restored to 1700 customers in the Fort St. John and Charlie Lake area and extending northwest into rural areas.

Power to the area has now been fully restored.


6:30 am update:

A crew is en route.

B.C. Hydro is reporting an estimated time of arrival of 7:20.


6:15 am update: 

B.C. Hydro has now assigned a crew to the outage.

There is still no indication of a cause or a time when power might be restored.

B.C. Hydro is reporting a large power outage this morning covering an area northwest of Fort St. John.

According to the company's website, 1700 customers have been without electricity since 5:31 this morning.

At this point, there is no indication what is behind the outage.

The area affected includes a section of Fort St. John and Charlie Lake and extends out rural areas along Highway 29 including Bear Flat.

B.C. Hydro is investigating.
