Howdy ya’ll, I hope that everyone is enjoying their month of May!!
We had our Club Judging Rally on April 30th. We Judged Beef, Broodmares, and the ID Table. After we judged our Judge Walt Hedges explained some things on the ID Table that we didn’t know what they were and then he also showed us how they worked. He also explained why he placed the Broodmares the way he did, he also explained what he was looking for in a broodmare. Then we went to the Beef, and he talked about his reasons for placing the class of Conformation Cows the way he did, he also explained his reasons. Thank you so much Walt and Val Hedges for letting us come and do our Club Judging Rally there. Also, a very big thank you to Walt for being the Judge.
We also had our Club meeting after we did the Judging and we talked about Achievement Days, this year Achievement Days are going to be a lot different, we aren’t allowed to use the North Peace Fall Fair Grounds this year, so we are going to do Achievement Days in Dawson Creek. We also discovered that we can’t really have barn decorations, we are going to sell our steers at the Auction Mart in Dawson as well. We also had a look at the younger members, animals and they look extremely well. I am very happy with their animals, and I am also very proud of the younger members for how well they are doing with their animals.
Sara and I are working on our 4-H animals now, they are all doing very well in catching, leading, and are growing very good. We have had different people lead Sara’s steer and the heifers and they are leading very well. My steer is leading good too just don’t trust him enough to let other people lead him yet. I am looking forward to showing my animals and t seeing everyone else’s animals.
A very Special Thank You To CO-OP For Sponsoring US
