In 2018 a woman reported to the University RCMP that she had been sexually assaulted by three men.

After two and a half years, three men who participated in the alleged sexual assault of one woman have been charged.

Just before 4:30 a.m. on November 5, 2018, University RCMP received a 911 call from a woman who reported she had been sexually assaulted by three men, at a residence in Vancouver on Acadia Road. The University RCMP launched an investigation and sought assistance from the BC RCMP Major Crime Section (MCS).

The BC Prosecution Service has approved charges of sexual assault for each of the three men allegedly involved: Tremont Levy, 26, Trivel Pinto, 25, and Ben Cummings, 24. Levy has also been charged with one count of voyeurism.

Acting Officer-In-Charge Supt. Sanjaya Wijayakoon of the BC RCMP MCS says the RCMP understands there may be questions related to the circumstances around the assault but says as the matter is before the court no such information will be provided.

Wijayakoon continues on to say the RCMP’s priority at this time is to prepare for, and continue to provide support for the victim through the upcoming court process.

The three men have been arrested and remain in police custody. They are expected to appear in a Richmond Provincial court at a later date.
