RCMP is appealing for dash-cam footage after two robberies over the weekend at what appears to be a pair of gas stations in west Richmond.

Mounties would only describe “two businesses” as being the targets, but a local resident who contacted the Richmond News said there was a large police presence at the gas stations at both No. 1 and Francis roads and No. 1 and Blundell roads.

The one at No. 1 and Francis roads was robbed just before 10 p.m. on Friday, while, a block away, the No. 1 and Blundell robbery took place at around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday.

According to police, a weapon was produced during the second robbery.

“While the two are within a similar geographic area, at this time it is unknown if the two are linked as the investigations are in preliminary stages,” said Cpl. Adriana O’Malley, spokesperson for Richmond RCMP.

Residents and community members who may have been in the areas of the robberies and have video surveillance or dash-cam footage are asked to contact the police.
