Serious hit-and-run puts man in ICU, police seek driver and witnesses

The driver fled before police arrived.

Vancouver police seek witnesses after a hit-and-run incident on Sept. 15 sent one man to hospital with serious injuries.

A serious hit-and-run Wednesday night sent one man to hospital, according to Vancouver police.

A middle-aged man was crossing Clark Drive at Grant Street from west to east around 9 p.m. yesterday (Sept. 14) when he was hit in the middle of the road by a driver of a black 2011 to 2015 Kia Optima who fled on Clark before police arrived. 

The victim, who is yet to be identified, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries and remains in the Intensive Care Unit. 

The Vancouver Police Department is asking witnesses to come forward and anyone with information to call VPD’s Collision Investigation Unit at 604-717-3012.
