Alexandra Lehmann wins Swiss women's hockey championship

Alexandra Lehmann won the Swiss Women's A League championship, March 28, with HC Lugano Ladies.

Alexandra Lehmann is a Swiss women's hockey champion, after she backstopped Hockey Club Ladies Lugano to a 1-0 shutout victory in Game 4 of the Swiss Women's A League (SWHL A) finals on March 28, 2021. Lehmann had two shutouts in the final series, as Lugano got the best of ZSC Lions Frauen, from Zurich.

The SWHL A is the top semi-pro women's league in Switzerland. This is Lehmann's first season with the team, and has been with HC Lugano since July 2020. 

Lehmann, who grew up in Cecil Lake and played her minor hockey in Clearview, spent the last two seasons playing for Carleton University in Ottawa, and in Lansing, Michigan, before moving to Lugano. Lehmann has dual citizenship in Canada and Switzerland.
