39th edition of the early classic 'Spring Stage Race' sees five gruelling races held over the next eight days

It is the 41st year of the Blizzard Bike Club in Fort St. John and spring is here.

The Blizzard Bicycle Club of Fort St. John featured the 39th edition of the early classic 'Spring Stage Race'. There are five gruelling races held over the next eight days. So far:

Thursday, Stage #1 - Nigel Wray blew away the competition once again to post the winning time, followed up by Ard Hoogenboom who managed to squeak ahead of Dan Webster by a mere second to take second place. Nigel Wray - 24:53; Ard Hoogenboom - 30:56; Dan Webster - 30:57; Kristine Bock - 31:01; Trevor McDonell - 33:09; Pat Ferris - 33:50; Sam Keats - 35:25; Richard Wood - 39:44.

Friday Morning, Stage #2 - Nigel Wray won stage 2 of the Spring Stage Race, the 3.5 km Beatton River Hill climb, in a time of 21.36 minutes. Ard Hoogenboom was second at 26:02, George Gamble 26:16, Dan Webster 26:43, Kristine Bock 28:21, and Trevor McDonnell 32:53. Thanks Richard Wood for timing and Nigel's most excellent cheering squad. Conditions were a very civilized +7.

Stage #3 is at Frozen John Hill, Saturday, 10 a.m.
