After a number of delays, the 2020 Canadian Olympic Swim Trials are currently underway in Toronto, and former Inconnu Swim Club member Cale Murdock is on hand looking to earn his ticket to Tokyo. The trials began Saturday, June 19, and will conclude on Wednesday, June 23.

Murdock, who currently swims out of Williams Lake, got things started June 19 with the 400m freestyle prelims, where his time of 3:58:57 was good for 13th place out of 20. He didn't advance to the 400m finals.

On June 20, Murdock swam in the 200m freestyle prelims. He posted a time of 1:51:06, the eighth fastest time, and earned a spot in the finals that afternoon. Times were slower in the finals across the board, and Murdock's time of 1:52:01 tied him for seventh place.

Murdock was not competing yesterday or today, June 22. He will be back in the pool Wednesday, June 23, for the 800m freestyle.
