The number of people who want to volunteer with the Dawson Creek Rage is growing everyday as more and more people are stepping forward to help out the new Jr. A team that will open the North American Hockey League season September in the EnCana Events Centre.

"We are collecting names of volunteers on our website for game day operations and we already have had quite an influx of people," said Gordon Currie, the team's press relations and marketing official.

Those volunteers include local seniors, who want to help out with the 50-50 draws or be ambassadors at the games and seat spectators, to people of all ages who want to apply for the mascot job.

As well, several experienced off-ice officials from around Northern B.C. have contacted Currie and offered their services. In some cases they are northern residents, while in other cases they are from the south and working in the north and want to get involved with junior hockey.

"It is stuff like that that just goes to show that it is a wide cross-section of people in the community, from seniors to kids, and goes to show that the community is behind the team."

Anyone who wants to volunteer can get in touch with Currie at dcrage.com.
