It was a good weekend for the Prince George-based U-17 Cariboo Cougars with two wins and a tie, but an even better weekend for Fort St. John’s Dane Dietz.
Dietz scored three goals and added an assist in a 12-1 win over the North Island Silvertips Saturday in Richmond – his efforts awarding him the first star of the game.
He would also score once Sunday in a 3-2 decision over the Vancouver Northeast Chiefs to earn the third star of the game.
Dietz, though, was held off the score sheet Friday in a 5-5 tie between the Cougars and Chiefs.
His team travels to Nanaimo this coming weekend.
