Green Valley 4H Club Report

Arlee Newsham brings you this month's Green Valley 4H report.

Wow! It’s already time to start a new year and a new project!

As the new year starts up, I can’t help but look back on the past year and all the generous sponsors who lend their support to our Club and to 4-H in general. The Green Valley 4-H couldn’t do it without the support of all of our generous sponsors. We appreciate it!

The weather is cooling off, and with the change of season comes the excitement of a new 4-H year and another project. The members will be selecting their projects and organizing their feed and ration amounts.

The Green Valley 4-H club is excited to welcome some new members, growing our club to 10 Steer Projects and 5 Heifers.

We are looking forward to our first weigh in happening in a few short weeks. For many of our members this means their first time halter breaking an animal. It’s a challenging but rewarding experience!

Over the winter each member will adapt their feed rations in hopes of winning the coveted “Daily Rate of Gain” award. This award is given to the animal with the greatest daily weight gain overall for the year.

The future looks bright. Until next time,

— Arlee Newsham, Club Reporter, Green Valley 4-H Club
