The Halfway River Rodeo is scheduled to make its triumphant return this summer, August 20 to 22.

Of course, that is if all goes to plan and PHO restrictions loosen and make a rodeo possible. The 2020 Halfway River Valley Round-up Rodeo was cancelled last May, ahead of what would have been the 19th iteration of the First Nations rodeo.

The rodeo will once again take place at the Halfway River Rodeo Grounds, consisting of two, one-day rodeos with pay-outs, on Saturday and Sunday, and a bull riding event on Friday.

There were no amateur rodeos in the Peace Region at all last summer, as the Halfway River, Blueberry River, Doig, and Fort St. John rodeos were all cancelled, as was the Dawson Creek rodeo.
