Huskies open season Friday in Dawson Creek

The Fort St. John Huskies will finally drop the puck on the 2021-22 NWJHL season Friday, September 24, when they take on the Dawson Creek Kodiaks at the Memorial Arena. The Huskies are 2-1 in exhibition play leading into Friday night’s tilt.

The Fort St. John Huskies will finally drop the puck on the 2021-22 NWJHL season Friday, September 24, when they take on the Dawson Creek Kodiaks at the Memorial Arena. 

The Huskies are 2-1 in exhibition play leading into Friday night’s tilt. The first game, a 5-0 win over the Kodiaks in Fort St. John on September 12, saw 13 players record a point, against a Kodiaks team with 13 first-year players. 

Fort St. John played two exhibition games last weekend in Cold Lake against the Ice. They won the first game 10-2, but dropped the rematch 3-2. 

The Kodiaks, meanwhile, played two exhibition games at the NWJHL pre-season showcase in High Level last weekend. They beat the Sexsmith Vipers 3-2 on September 17, and took down the North Peace Navigators 3-1 on September 19. 

Puck drop for Friday’s game is at 8 p.m.
